what are the services like?

When you visit LFUMC it is our goal to show you the love of Christ and make you feel like family! We have 2 services, one at 8:30 which is a quieter service where communion is served every Sunday and one at 10:30 which includes the choir/special music, children’s sermon, and communion is served on the 1st Sunday of the month. Our services would be described as a combination of traditional and contemporary worship and very relaxed. We also offer a wide range of Sunday school classes for children of all ages and several options for adult classes. Come as you are, we’ll love you as you are! Be sure to visit our Welcome Desk to get your ‘first time guest’ gift! We also have more literature at the church we can give you to tell you more about us. We look forward to seeing you!

Infant Nursery (birth to 2 years of age) is available during the Sunday School hour. Infant Nursery (birth to 18 months) and Toddler Nursery (18 months to 3 years of age) is available during both Worship Services.

what is the size of your congregation?

We are a mid-sized congregation, small enough to maintain a sense of family, but large enough to offer a variety of programs to our members, visitors, and the surrounding community. We have about 230-280 in worship each Sunday.

can anyone participate in communion at LFUMC?

Our communion table is open. All are welcome to participate in the Lord’s Supper. Communion is served by intinction, in which the bread is dipped in the grape juice and both are taken together.

do you serve wine during communion?

No. In order to maintain an open communion table and to not exclude those who do not drink alcohol, we serve grape juice.

Interested in uniting with our church family?

•Have you been worshipping with us for a while and desire to make a deeper commitment to Christ and this church?

•Would you like to covenant together with God and the members of this church to profess your faith in Christ and your desire to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ?

there are two ways to make this commitment:

Confession of Faith and/or Baptism- If you have never made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, you will need to do so in order to be a member of The United Methodist Church. If you have never been baptized, we will baptize you in one of three ways: sprinkling, pouring, or immersion. Those who have been baptized in a Christian denomination may also affirm their baptism, their faith in Jesus Christ and their commitment to live as a disciple of Christ.

Transfer of Membership- The United Methodist Church recognizes the baptism of all other Christian denominations. If you were a baptized member of a Christian denomination, you may unite with this congregation through a simple transfer of your membership.

Do you promise to support the church with your prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness?
